Friends pay for Davao trips – Rody

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – No government funds are spent for his weekly flights to this city, President Duterte has assured the public.

“I have moneyed friends and classmates who made it good in life and are spending for my weekend trips home. No government money is spent on those trips,” the President said, citing Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade. 

Duterte either takes an economy flight or a private jet in coming home.

The President earlier said he would split his workweek between Manila and Davao.

He said he wants to spend time with his family in this city, adding that he is more comfortable staying in his house.
