P.5 M reward up for arrest of vice mayor’s killer
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The Cagayan provincial government has put up a reward of P500,000 for information leading to the arrest of the killer of Pamplona, Cagayan Vice Mayor Aaron Sampaga.
Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba gave assurance that the identity of the informant would be kept confidential.
Sampaga, 39, was gunned down after attending a party in Barangay Masi at around 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 5. Six bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol and an M16 rifle were recovered at the scene.
Probers are eyeing politics as the motive for the killing.
