Suspected drug supplier of showbiz personalities killed in Laguna shootout

MANILA, Philippines – A man suspected of being the illegal drug supplier to celebrities was killed in Laguna on Thursday morning after engaging in a firefight  with arresting officers.

According to a report by dzMM, the alleged drug supplier was identified as Alvin Comerciante. An unnamed companion of the suspect was also killed in the anti-illegal drugs operation.

Armed with a search warrant, the authorities went to Comerciante’s residence in Adelina Subdivision in San Pedro, Laguna when the suspect became suspicious and reportedly tried to shoot the police officers.

Police were left with no choice but to shoot back, resulting in Comerciante's death.

The authorities also arrested the suspect's live-in partner Cristine Padilla, who is reportedly related to ABS-CBN star Robin Padilla.

Padilla, however, denied her involvement in Comerciante's alleged illegal activities.

Investigation is still ongoing to find out who the personalities getting drugs from Comerciante are.
