Village councilor shot dead

CANDELARIA, Quezon, Philippines – A barangay councilor was shot dead in Sitio Baking, Barangay Kinatihan II in this town on Monday night.

Yolanda Vallecer, 64, was walking home when unidentified men shot her, said Senior Superintendent Eugenio Paguirigan, Quezon police director.

An investigation into the killing is ongoing.
