Bomb blast rocks Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A bomb exploded in a vehicle parked in front of a chapel in Lamitan, Basilan on Friday night.

Police said no one was reported hurt in the blast, which occurred at 8:25 p.m. along Flores street in Barangay Maligaya.

Senior Inspector Gean Gallardo, Lamitan City police chief, said the explosion damaged a multicab and nearby structures.

Gallardo said no group has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.
