Teacher nabbed for rape

ATIMONAN, Quezon, Philippines – A teacher here was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping one of his students.

Alvin Romasanta, 27, was arrested at his home in Barangay 1 based on the warrants issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 62 Judge Maria Chona Pulgar-Navarro, said Senior Inspector Rizaldy Merene, Atimonan police chief. 

A Grade 7 student charged Romasanta with two counts of rape and acts of lasciviousness, saying he molested her on Aug. 3 and 15 last year. 

Romasanta is being held at the Atimonan police detention cell.
