Magnitude 5.2 quake jolts Cagayan
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rattled Cagayan province yesterday but no injuries or damage were reported, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor, which occurred at 10:49 a.m., was located some 14 kilometers northwest of Calayan town.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Santa Ana.
The public had been warned of aftershocks.
Also yesterday, quakes of magnitudes 2.9 and 3.2 hit Baler town in Aurora and Taft in Eastern Samar, respectively.
Phivolcs said the tremors were unfelt.
