Motorists told to avoid MOA on Saturday

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised motorists to steer clear of the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City today (Saturday) as roads around it will be closed to traffic for the “Tanging Pagtitipon” evangelical mission of the Iglesia ni Cristo.

In a traffic advisory, the MMDA said the road closures will start at 12:01 am.

To be closed to traffic are the east- and west-bound lanes of Seaside Boulevard corner Macapagal Boulevard and the Seaside Boulevard corner Diokno.

However, the MMDA said, the north and sound bound lanes of  Macapagal Boulevard. and Diokno will remain open to traffic.

All closed roads will be re-opened to traffic at 11 a.m., the MMDA said.

Meanwhile, roads around the Star City Complex will be closed to traffic Saturday afternoon for this year’s “Aliwan Fiesta.”

The MMDA said the Manila City government will close the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak to P. Ocampo St. at exactly 2 p.m.

MMDA advised motorists to take the following alternate routes:
All vehicles coming from the Jones, McArthur and Quezon bridges are advised to take the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, turn at the “Round Table” (Palacio St.) straight to Ma. Orosa right to T.M. Kalaw. left to M.H. del Pilar, left to Pres. Quirino, right to Mabini or use Taft Ave. to their point of destination.

All vehicles coming from northern part of Manila intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to P. Ocampo shall turn left to P. Burgos right to Ma. Orosa, right to T.M. Kalaw, left to M.H. del Pilar, left to Pres. Quirino, right to Mabini or use Taft Ave. to point of destination.

All motorists coming from adjacent roads from P. Burgos, TM Kalaw, UN Ave., P. Gil, left to Pres. Quirino and P. Ocampo shall take Taft Ave., or M.H. del Pilar to point of destination.

All vehicles travelling on the westbound lane of Pres. Quirino intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., shall turn left to Adriatico right to P. Ocampo, left to F.B. Harrison to their point of destination.
