Communist guerrillas raided a government dam project in Quezon early Wednesday, robbing the guards of their guns and warning they would come back for more, the military said.
About 30 New Peoples Army (NPA) gunmen crept up to the Umiray-Angat transbasin project site near General Nakar town and detained an unspecified number of workers and security guards for nearly eight hours, a military report said.
The rebels left after seizing two shotguns and two revolvers from the guards, it said. The NPA also stole communications equipment, a power generator and food supplies, it added.
