Makati vows to aid designer vs foreigner
MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government is extending its free legal assistance to hat designer Mich Dulce after a foreigner allegedly groped her in a bar in Makati City last Friday.
Lawyer Michael Camina, city’s legal officer and spokesman, said they can offer legal advice to Dulce on how to proceed with her case against the still unidentified man.
“We can help her identify the foreigner and listen to her issues. We can also check the closed-circuit television cameras to look for evidence to support her case,” Camina told The STAR.
Camina said the city government’s legal department has been ordered to reach out to Dulce.
They will also coordinate with the bar to get a copy of the closed-circuit television footage as well as check if its business permits are up to date.
Camina said they can also coordinate with the Bureau of Immigration to check the records of the foreigner who allegedly groped her.
Camina, meanwhile, asked foreigners in Makati to respect the rule of law.
As of this time, Camina said they are still studying what charges may be filed against the foreigner.
