3 drug suspects slain in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - Motorcycle-riding assailants wearing masks killed three alleged drug users in separate attacks in Caloocan City since Monday night.

Two armed men barged into the house of Jun Jimenez in Barangay 182 at around 10 p.m. and shot him several times.

At around 12:45 a.m. yesterday, unidentified assailants shot Jalma Quintana, 40, while he was walking along Marulas A in Barangay 36.

A few minutes later, two men shot Joselito Jimenez, 43, while he was playing a coin game with other tricycle drivers in Barangay 178.

More than 10 similar attacks have been recorded in the city since July.

A Caloocan police official told The STAR it was possible that “some narco-politicians are worried that their names will be dragged into the picture and have started killing the people who have connections to them.”
