MANILA, Philippines - Three of four generals who were seen in the company of defeated presidential candidate Mar Roxas at a hotel in Quezon City and the Metro Manila police chief were among the casualties in the revamp under newly appointed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald de la Rosa.

Director Generoso Cerbo Jr. of the Directorate for Intelligence; Chief Superintendents Rainer Idio of Cagayan Valley and Bernardo Diaz of Western Visayas; and National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Joel Pagdilao were not given specific assignments.

All four generals belong to the Philippine Military Academy Class ’84, whose members adopted Roxas as their mistah. De la Rosa has yet to reveal their specific assignments.

“Don’t put politics in the reorganization. We are tasked to do something and we need people who will deliver and meet the requirement of President Duterte,” he said.

De la Rosa is tasked to eradicate illegal drugs in the country in six months.

Even without specific assignments, the four generals will still receive their monthly salaries: P153,372 for a police director and P143,453 for a chief superintendent.

De la Rosa has approved the reorganization of senior officers occupying key positions in the PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff, Police Regional Offices and National Support Units.
