Cop in Pasay shooting nabbed
MANILA, Philippines - A policeman was arrested for wounding a fellow officer in a shooting incident in Pasay City before midnight yesterday.
Police Officer 1 Kris Christopher Lacap of the Cavite provincial police office was nabbed after he shot PO1 Eduardo Lomboy of the Buendia police community precinct, Pasay police commander Senior Superintendent Joel Doria said.
Lomboy and three other policemen responded to a traffic incident along Buendia street when Lacap, said to be drunk, arrived and intervened.
“Lacap engaged the Pasay policemen in an argument,” Doria said.
At the height of the argument, Lacap pulled out his gun and shot Lomboy twice, prompting the victim’s colleagues to return fire, hitting the suspect in his left thigh and left arm.
Charges of frustrated murder will be filed against Lacap.
