2 held for fencing goods to victim’s neighbor

MANILA, Philippines – Two men were arrested in Quezon City Thursday night for allegedly selling a box of Vienna sausages they stole from their neighbor’s house to another neighbor.

The victim, Mylene Nerit, told police that two unidentified men broke into her house in Barangay Commonwealth and stole P200,000 worth of jewelry, P150,000 cash, a box of Vienna sausages worth P1,800 and other items Thursday morning.

At around 8 p.m. Thursday, Passet Angli sold the sausages to a neighbor of the victim, Mark Aldrin Gavina, who returned the items to Nerit.

The victim and Gavina then went to the police for help to arrest Angli and his alleged accomplice, Saipoden Saumay.

Police were unable to recover the jewelry, cash and other items the suspects stolen from Nerit.
