Lapu drug bust nets 5

CEBU, Philippines - Five men were arrested in a buy-bust operation Saturday evening in Lapu-Lapu City.

Police Senior Inspector Rogelio Pineda of Cebu Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group led the operation.

Gemelito Berame, 41; Jason Dungog, 31; Dakkar Cabasa, 30; Almer Vallenza, 28; and Rowelmet Berame, 33, were among the suspects caught by a police decoy around 6 p.m. in Sitio Kaymito, Barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police authorities confiscated two large packs and 13 small packs of heat-sealed plastic containing suspected shabu, aluminum tin foils, disposable lighters, as well as one P100 bill and two P50 bills used as marked money for the entrapment.

The detained drug dealers will be subjected for police investigation while the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Police Headquarters for further examination.
