Emia, Andrin dominate Rotary’s footrace

CEBU, Philippines - Joseph Arnel Emia and Lovely Andrin led the winners’ circle in Rotary Club of Cebu’s ‘Run for the Gift of Life’ at Robinsons Galleria Cebu yesterday.

Emia topped the men’s 16-kilometer run in one hour and 45 seconds, way ahead of veteran Sherwin Managuil who clocked in 1:01:32. A.G Mercado placed third in 1:08:49.

Rounding up the top 10 placers were Raymond Ababad (1:11.18), Romulo Rusell (1:11.39), Neo Anthony Sayson(1:14.01),  Jimmy Yu (1:17.01), Lawrence Ortiz(1:17.05), Rovic Catap (1:18.36) and Bernard Sajebudi (1:18.36).

Andrin, for her part, reigned supreme in the women’s action with a time of 1:19:58. Ron Lacanlali placed second in 1:24:42 followed by Jona Dela Torre in 1:24:51.

Completing the top 10 cast were Rhoda Oporto (1:29.46), Rosalinda Cosino(1:30.36), Amelie Pisoc(1:31.51), Jane Ong (1:32.12), Rexel May Lao (1:38.52) and Jamil Lopez (1:39.08).

Joland Olmilla lorded it over the men's 8K in 29 minutes and 48 seconds. Ken Guiao landed at second with a time of 29:58 as Bryan Guillen wound up third in 30:57.

In the distaff side, Cherry Andrin took the top spot in 40:53 followed by Lynelyn Malaki (46:58) and Rowena Bejec (49:52).

Jeboy Magbologtong (9:58) and Agnes Segundino (16:35) grabbed part of the limelight after they dominated the 3K battle.

After the run, the Rotary Club of Cebu will be staging another fund-raising event via the ‘Rotary Corporate Triathlon’ on June 11 at the Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City. (FREEMAN)
