CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City government has implemented a P500 increase in the cash incentive for all elementary and secondary public school students who will graduate with top honors, effective this coming school year 2017-2018.

Talisay City Vice Mayor Alan Bucao said that the cash incentive program is a means for the city to recognize the efforts of deserving students in the city’s public schools in their pursuit for academic excellence.

Beginning this coming school year, those graduating as valedictorians will now receive P3,500; salutatorians, P2,500; and for first honorable mention, P1,500.

In addition, the government has extended the cash incentive program to include those second to tenth honorable mentions who will be receiving P500 each.

The list of graduating honor students will need to be submitted to the office of the mayor at least 15 days before the school’s scheduled graduation rites, duly signed by the principal or school head and noted by the schools division superintendent. — Maria Carmela Pasaol (BANAT NEWS)
