Halloween 2016: Dionne Monsanto channels the Joker

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana actress Dionne Monsanto and her close pal Rachel Donaire had a blast playing dress up for Halloween and for the lenses of Rachel’s husband: Filipino boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr.

Turns out Nonito isn’t only adept inside the ring; he’s also got some photography skills, as can be seen from the outtakes of Dionne and Rachel all dolled up as DC Comics villains the Joker and Harley Quinn, respectively.

The Joker was most recently played on the big screen by Jared Leto in “Suicide Squad,” with Margot Robbie playing his psychiatrist-turned-lover Harley Quinn.

Currently in the United States with the Donaires, Dionne has been staying at the couple’s home while she has been helping them with some promotional work.

Dionne’s friendship with the athletic couple began when she and Nonito did the 2012 Visayan indie film “Palad Ta Ang Nagbuot.” The former PBB housemate later on became the godmother of Nonito and Rachel’s youngest son.

In an email exchange with Pep.ph, Dionne said that the Donaire couple has been a good influence on her. Rachel, she said, mentors her on how to strengthen her body, while Nonito guides her about mental strength and life in general.

Dionne also shared that after her villainous “Tubig at Langis” character made waves among TV viewers, she hopes to nab more out-of-the-box, complicated and challenging roles. Like Joker, perhaps? (FREEMAN)
