Why Duterte won

LEADER VERSUS MANAGER. Duterte and Roxas are a perfect example of a leader and a manager, an EAR informer said. He said people are naturally "hypercritical of managers but give the leaders the license to be amoral/immoral." That is why some people, he explained, are okay with Duterte's quirks but are enraged with Roxas' supposed "mishandling" of Yolanda, MRT and Mamasapano, among others.

CAUTION.The informer said one factor why Duterte won over Roxas was the difference in their advocacies. Roxas, he said, tended to appeal to reason, systems structure and development while Duterte's thrust was change, justice and equality. However, the informer warned that Duterte's charisma has to be complemented by a competent Cabinet.
