A letter from Cordova fisherfolk

LETTER TO THE EDITOR - The Freeman

Congresswoman Leni Robredo is truly a champion of the marginalized people. I thought her reported exploits with the Sumilao farmers was just a campaign strategy. But when her daughter Aika came to visit Cordova and personally see the plight of the women and fisherfolks, I was dumbfounded of what I've witnessed. We later met her and we learned she actually knows about our plight.

She truly is concerned of the welfare of the women and rural poor, as she likewise sent one of her daughters to visit us and consulted about our problems and our needs.

For this, we are very grateful that somebody has taken notice of our predicament. And to think we're not even her constituents. She is a representative of Camarines Sur, yet she went out of her way to come and see us.

On behalf of the women and fisherfolks of Cordova, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Congresswoman Leni for her efforts.

She deserves to be the next vice president of our country, and she deserves our solid vote in next week's elections.
