SWU Lady Cobras draw first blood

CEBU, Philippines — The Southwestern University-Phinma Lady Cobras took Game 1 of their best-of-three championship series against University of San Jose Recoletos in the women’s volleyball event of the 2017 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) yesterday at the University of San Carlos main gym.

SWU spikers dominated the first two sets, 26-24, 25-14, but USJR bounced back in the third set for a 25-16 edge.

But the SWU belles used their championship experience  to reclaim the momentum and win the fourth set, 25-19.

SWU will go for a sweep as USJ-R tries to force a rubber match in Game 2 set on November 25 at the USC gym. (FREEMAN)
