Teleperformance into finals, Convergys forges rubbermatch in CSCC E-Leagues

CEBU, Philippines — The Teleperformance All-Stars completed a two-game sweep of the Lexmark Stallions in their best-of-three semis but had to go through the wringer before eking out a 46-44 win  to advance into the Elite Classic finals of the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 13 last Saturday at the  City Sports Club Cebu gym.

The All-Stars have yet to wait for their champion ship opponent though as two-time defending champion Convergys Converters lived and fight for another day after surviving a double overtime match to get back at the Accenture Sharks, 81-75.

Rahne Laborte topscored for 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and as many steals, while Marcos Jungoy III chipped in 10 points on top of five rebounds and four assists as Teleperformance barged into the final round for the first time since 2014.

In the other game, Franz Dione Dysam unloaded 25 points laced with five rebounds, four steals and three assists, while Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla banged in 21 markers that went along with seven rebounds and six steals to keep the grandslam bid of Convergys in motion.

On the other hand, the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs and QBE Generals pounded their respective foes to move a win away from setting up a title showdown in the Evo League.

Jiffy Canaya scored 15 spiked with six rebounds and three steals as the Flying Lemurs mauled The Results Spartans, 61- 43, while Johnrey Girasol scattered 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists as the Generals vanquished the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties, 66-55.

Roberto Castro, Jr. added 10 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in an all-around performance for the Flying Lemurs, who dropped a 34-19 bomb in the final half to decimate the Spartans.

For the Generals, Foot Stuart, Carlo Cabarrubias, and Norman Guigue also figured prominently with 33 combined points  as they banked on a strong second-quarter show and a solid endgame finish to push the Tech Mighties on the brink of their season's end. — EBV (FREEMAN)
