23-yr-old woman commits suicide

CEBU, Philippines - A 23-year-old woman, who was allegedly suspicious that her live-in partner was having an affair, took her own life late Sunday night in Sitio Bless, Barangay Pajac Lapu-Lapu City.

Amor Bahao was found by her live-in partner, Marvin Battelier, who reportedly came from the house of his parents, who lived nearby.

When he got home, Bahao was lying on the floor with an extension wire tied around her neck. Battelier reportedly tried to give first aid to Bahao, but the latter was already unresponsive.

Police Officer 2 Marven Saraum, the investigator on the case, said that prior to committing suicide, Bahao had a fight with Battelier. Saraum said Bahao was jealous since she suspected that Battelier was having an affair.

Saraum disclosed that Bahao gave her family a vague message when she was in her parents' house a day before the incident, hinting that there will be a funeral soon.

Based on the investigation, Bahao used an extension wire to hang herself, but the wire snapped due to the weight. Saraum said that the extension wire was still plugged in and one of his men almost got electrocuted by the live wire when they were investigating the scene.

Bahao's parents have requested for an autopsy on their daughter's body. (FREEMAN)
