“Robbery gang member” nabbed for gun posession

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged member of a robbery group was arrested after he was caught with a firearm along Ayala access road in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City yesterday.

Suspect Jonathan Ceballos, 25, a resident of the place, allegedly threatened passersby with the gun.

A concerned citizen called up the Cebu Intelligence Branch (CIB) of Cebu City Police Office and informed the police about the armed suspect.

Operatives led by Senior Inspector Jovito Labra responded to the area and arrested the suspect.

Recovered from the suspect's possession was a cal. 38 Smith and Wesson snub nose revolver with two live rounds.

Investigation revealed that Ceballos was allegedly a member of the Fernandez robbery group that had previously penetrated Cebu.

The suspect is now temporary detained at CCPO lockup cell awaiting charges to be filed against him in court.  (FREEMAN)
