CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City's "Deretso Team" was in full force Saturday for its final grand rally with re-electionist Paz Radaza assuring voters she and other officials in the party will continue to improve the city.

Also at the rally were Vice Mayor Marcial Ycong, Lapu-Lapu Representative Aileen Radaza, and candidates for councilor.

Radaza said they will give special attention to the needs of senior citizens, persons with disability, and children with special needs.

"Atoa silang amomahon isip ginikanan," Radaza said.

Radaza said she will also intensify the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs, as well as efforts to improve the city's tourism and branding to generate more jobs to the residents.

At the end of her speech, Radaza presented to those present at the rally the accident insurance health card made by the camp of mayoralty candidate Rolando Patalinjug of Team Kusgano. She urged voters not be deceived easily by the card.

The insurance card bears the images of Patalinjug, his vice mayoralty candidate Rufo Amores, and congressional candidate Dr. Celedonio "Celsi" Sitoy and offers a principal sum of P50,000.

Sough for a comment, Rolando clarified the card intended for his campaign leaders is an "application card" and has no approval yet from the Fortune Life Insurance Company.

Patalinjug's group also held a motorcade yesterday from 7 a.m. to 12 noon, which was attended by 400 motorists and another 400 vehicles as a show of support for his group and for presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of PDP-Laban.

"Didto nag-start sa Punta Engaño. Naay nag-atang sa Barangay Mactan og Barangay Buaya. Tulo ka area ang gipundokan ug didto na nag-abot-abot," said Patalinjug.

Patalinjug's group made rounds in Barangays Pusok, Poblacion, Looc, Canjulao, Babag Gun-ob. Marigondon, Agus, as well as Maribago, Bankal, Mactan and Pajac.

The grand rally of Team Kusgano will be on May 6. —(FREEMAN)
