Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A 17-year-old died after he was reportedly stabbed by his older brother in B. Aranas Extension Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Edgar Calero Jr., was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but was pronounced dead a few hours after he was trea-ted.

Carlo Calero, 18, surrendered to the Mamba-ling Police Station almost an hour after he stabbed his younger brother.

Initial investigation conducted by the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office revealed that the brothers always found it hard to agree with each other and have been at odds since childhood.

Their mother, Jocelyn Calero, told police investigators that her sons were not in their house when the incident happened.

Both of them were walking in the street and met along the road and when their elbows touched, Carlo got mad and mauled his younger brother.

Edgar fought back prompting Carlo to pull out the kitchen knife that he was  carrying with  him and stabbed his brother on the left chest.

Edgar was still able to run home while Carlo tried to escape.

The victim managed to go home where he told his mother that his older brother mauled and stabbed him.

His mother called for help seeing his son covered with blood and was very weak.

The victim was brought to CCMC for immediate medical treatment but a few hours after the treatment, the attending physician pronounced him dead.

The victim’s older brother surrendered to the Miscellaneous Team of Mambaling Police Station around 9:45 p.m. and is currently detained at the detention cell.

The suspect will be facing a charge of murder if his mother will file a case against him.    (FREEMAN)
