MANILA, Philippines - Inihayag kahapon ng Malacañang na magbubukas na ngayong Enero 18 ang Overseas Filipino Worker Bank, ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.
“Overseas Filipino Bank is set to open on January 18,” wika ni Sec. Roque sa media briefing sa Malacañang kahapon.
Magugunita na inaprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagbili ng Land Bank of the Philippines sa Philippine Postal Bank na magiging OFW Bank.
Sa ilalim ng Executive Order no. 44 ni Pangulong Duterte na nilagdaan ng chief executive noong September 28, 2017 ay itinatayo ang Overseas Filipino Bank.
“Philippine Postal Corporation, which owns Postbank, and the Bureau of Treasury were directed under the EO 44 to transfer their Postbank shares to Land Bank at zero value. Land Bank was ordered to infuse capital to Overseas Filipino Bank. Land Bank’s chairperson will serve as head of the 9-member board of directors of the new lender,” nakasaad pa sa EO 44.
