FOI, umani ng suporta
MANILA, Philippines - Umani ng suporta mula sa non-government watch group on chemicals and wastes ang ginawang paglagda ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa “Freedom of Information” (FOI) executive order.
“While it is no substitute to an all-encompassing FOI law that would apply to all branches and levels of the government, Duterte’s order is surely a huge boost to building a more transparent, accountable and responsive government that our people want,”pahayag ni Noli Abinales, Presidente ng EcoWaste Coalition.
Ayon kay Abinales, dahil sa pagkakalagda sa naturang batas, maaari na ngayong makakuha ng impormasyon ang publiko hinggil sa pinapasok na kontrata, ginagawang desisyon ng mga halal ng bayan at kanilang mga pinagkaka-abalahan.
Sa ilalim ng nilagdaang batas ni Duterte, ang mga impormasyon tulad ng anumang dokumento, mga papeles, kontrata,minutes at transcripts ng mga official meetings, map, books, photos, data, research materials, films, sound at video recording (magnetic or other tapes), electronic data computer store data at kahalintulad na data ay maaari ng malaman ng taumbayan.
