11T signatures gathered for Grace Poe movement

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — At least 11,000 signatures have been gathered for the  “Grace Poe for President!”  movement,  spearheaded by former city councilor Ricardo Tan and the friends of Grace and Chiz group.

Tan, former assistant secretary of  the Department of Transportations  and Communication, said the signature campaign is continuing to this day, with the aim of getting more signatures around  the province.

Poe’s mother, Susan Roxas, is from Negros Occidental. “That is the advantage of Poe here. She is fitted to be president because of  her sincerity in public service, humility and she has so much appeal to the masses, young and dynamic,” Tan said.

Tan’s group has been building up the political structures in Bacolod to make the senator win here against Vice President Jejomar Binay and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, whose mother is also from the province.

Other local officials and supporters are now welcome to join the movement in the city and province, Tan added. —Marchel P. Espina(FREEMAN)
