Negros Oriental sets aside P20M for medical missions
DUMAGUETE CITY , Philippines— Governor Roel Degamo has disclosed the provincial government has allocated for this year at least P20-million for medical missions in the different barangays in Negros Oriental.
Degamo said his administration aimed to conduct at least three medical missions every month throughout the year to bring medical and health services to residents particularly in remote villages.
The governor had noted lesser hospital admissions in government-owned hospitals during the recent past years after his administration increased the number of outreach programs in the countryside.
He said it has been his commitment to the people to address their health issues, starting at the barangay level, especially those who can hardly afford medical treatment or hospitalization.
On Friday, the Capitol had conducted a medical mission at Barangay Casili in Dauin town, about 20 minutes drive south of this capital city. (FREEMAN)
