DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines —  A fun child's game ended in tragedy when a 6-year-old boy accidentally shot to death his 4-year-old brother with their father's .38-caliber pistol at their house in Barangay Cantil-e of this city Wednesday.

Records from the City Police showed that the siblings were playing when their 33-year-old father went out to fetch their 24-year-old mother in Brgy. Calindagan of this city.

While playing, the elder brother toyed with his father's gun, placed on top of a bamboo cabinet, and accidentally fired it, hitting his younger brother on the nose, resulting in the latter's death, said the police report.

The victim was immediately brought to a private hospital but was later declared dead on arrival because of a gunshot wound in his face with no exit wound.

The City Police added that the Provincial Crime Laboratory processed the crime scene and later recovered the gun, which is now in police custody. (FREEMAN)
