Pulpogan nails juniors A title in 10th Alegado Cup

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — John Paulo Dalumpines dropped 32 points as Pulpogan finished off Casili, 83-72, in the deciding match of their best-of-three finals series to snatch the juniors category A title of the 10th Mayor Alegado Cup Inter-Barangay Fiesta Basketball League last Sunday night at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

Dalumpines, a mainstay of the Consolacion Sarok Weavers, also finished with seven assists, four rebounds and two steals in all-around hardcourt brilliance that made him the hands down choice as the regular season and Finals MVP.

Pulpogan was ahead by only three points after three quarters, 61-58, but completely outclassed Casili in the final 10 minutes of play to carve out a double-digit triumph.

Dalumpines got huge support from Raymundo Osabel with 11 points, eight rebounds and six blocks.

Pieer Candido also had 11 points while Raymundo Ageas chipped in 10 markers for Pulpogan, which dictated the pace of the match since racing to a hot 24-16 start.

Rodolf Ygot, Ariel Ortiz and Anthony Laborte also made a huge contribution for Pulpogan with 23 combined points.

Regnier Gonzaga fired 32 points while Kendrick Alcover tallied 18 markers in a losing effort for Casili.

The 35-day tilt is among the highlights of Consolacion’s annual fiesta in honor of their beloved patron San Narciso on October 29.

It is strongly supported by the Consolacion LGU under the flagship of Mayor Joannes P. Alegado, Vice Mayor Teresa P. Alegado, SB members Aurelio Damole, Ely Palang, Brando Cuizon, Ben Ermac, Marilou Casul, Benjamin “Boy” Tibon, Victor Maglasang, Wesley Alimoren, and Alfie Ouano, and SK Federation President Carlos Donn Q. Flores.

Games are under the supervision of commissioner Paul Alelu Flores assisted by technical committee chief Aurelio Eslawan. (FREEMAN)
