Cebu hosts three-day SBP referee training
CEBU, Philippines - The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas the governing body of the country's most popular sport, will hold a National Basketball Officials Accreditation and Licensing starting today at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.
The three-day seminar and clinic that will run until Sunday is in accordance with SBP's thrust of developing a standard program to improve the level of competitiveness in officiating as well as to strengthen the competence of those who are already into basketball officiating.
It will be conducted by SBP Technical Commission chairman Liberato Valenzuela and FIBA referee Ricor Buaron.
The daily session is scheduled from 8 am to 5pm. It is open to all interested referees from Cebu and other parts of the region.
The participants will go through a series of lectures and actual drills before undergoing a written and practical examination to determine their comprehension of the lessons and if they will be accredited and licensed.
