Consolacion reminds developers on requirements

Jose P. Sollano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  With a number of property developments emerging in the town, the municipal government of Consolacion has reminded developers to comply with all the housing requirements needed.

Consolacion Mayor Teresa Ale-gado aired her concern over the failure of some subdivision developers to comply with all the requirements set by the local government.

The same requirements are also set by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board which grants permits for a development in an area.

In a meeting between Mayor Alegado, members of the Muni-cipal Council and subdivision developers, she emphasized that they should comply with all the requirements.

Mayor Alegado cited the concern on the non-compliance of drainage plans which consequently affects the residents in Barangays Cansaga, Pitogo, Nangka and neighboring barangays.

The residents of the affected barangays raised their complaints to the town officials on the issue of flooding, reportedly caused by the drainage problems of the subdivisions.

Alegado and the town officials said that while they welcomed any development in Consolacion, the business owners should still meet all the requirements.

During the meeting, a number of subdivision developers assured the town officials that they are following the requirements set by the municipal government and the HLURB.

At the same time, the town officials and the representatives from HLURB agreed to closely coordinate with each other to address the problem.  (FREEMAN)
