Cebu Blue Marlins start bid in G-League swimfest

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Blue Marlins will invade Iloilo this weekend for the first leg of the 4th Speedo G-League Long Course Swim Meet.

Coach Rolando Alvarez will be fielding in a total of 19 athletes for the said meet. Majority of CBM's bets are from the University of Cebu led by Milo Little Olympics record-breaker Michael Ichiro Kong together with  Jobert Indaya, Jay Clifford Fernandez, Shayne Allyne Pareja, Emma Alexandrite Duroy, Lindsay Anne Gonzales, Karen Mae Indaya, Danielle Mae Ballesteros, Trina Caneda and Beth May Arellano.

The rest of the CBM entries include University of San Carlos' Tara Kyla Ebon and Razel Cabajar and Aaron Grant Embuscado, Tabunok's Marie dela Cerna, St.Theresa's College's Justine Reign Garrido, Bright Academy's Jehaosh Reign Garrido, Maternelle Academy's Rafael John Dacaldacal and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu's Val Andre Chiu.

Sixteen-year-old Timothy Yen of La Jolla Country Day School-California is also listed in CBM's lineup.

The G-League Series is an opportunity for the participants to achieve their qualifying times for the National Long Course Swimming Championships and hopefully get spotted for the Philippine team. (FREEMAN)
