Super typhoon expected to enter PAR next week

MANILA — State meteorologists are monitoring a super typhoon that is set to enter the Philippine area of responsibility next week.
PAGASA said that they are currently monitoring a super typhoon with an international name Bavi, which was last located at 2,929 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.
It is packing winds at 205 kms per hour and gusts at 250 kph moving west southwestward at 25 kph.
If it enters PAR, it will have an international name of Inday, the second tropical cyclone this month and ninth overall this year.
PAGASA said that Bavi may move close to Northern Luzon and Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals may be raised in Northern and possibly Central Luzon.
State seismologists added that the public should watch out for the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat.
“The enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat may cause widespread rainfall in a large part of the country next week,” they said. — (FREEMAN) Philippine Star News Service
