PSA-7 to implement online appointment system October 1

CEBU, Philippines — The Philippine Statistics Authority in Region 7 (PSA-7) announced that the Cebu City Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet will fully implement the Online Appointment System starting October 1, 2025.

This initiative is aimed at efficiently managing the growing number of National ID holder-clients and to streamline transactions.

PSA-7 Director Wilma Perante, in a press conference, urged clients to book appointments online before visiting the outlet to ensure faster and more convenient service.

She said that beginning October 1, walk-in clients will no longer be accommodated, except for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and those in special lanes.

To further expand accessibility, the PSA-7 said it will also roll out CRS mobile services in municipalities and barangays, bringing civil registry documents closer to communities.

The announcement was made as PSA marks its 12th anniversary with a lineup of activities across the provinces and at its regional offices.

“We survived as a statistics and civil registration agency for 12 years now because of your cooperation,” Perante said, extending gratitude to respondents, stakeholders, and the media for their consistent support.

As part of the celebration, PSA-7 will host its Regional Data Festival from September 12 to 17 at Bai Hotel in Mandaue City, showcasing data-sharing initiatives and strengthening collaboration with stakeholders.

Perante also reported that PSA-7 is currently conducting several major surveys, including the updating of agricultural farm operators and landing centers, the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES), and the Labor Force Survey (LFS) for September.

These surveys, she said, are crucial for generating poverty statistics, labor market data, and agricultural benchmarks.

The agency is likewise implementing the Survey on Energy Consumption of Establishments, designed to guide government energy policies and programs toward renewable and sustainable sources.

The PSA-7 will also begin the turnover of data from the 2024 Census of Population and the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to local government units this month, with staggered releases for Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Cebu.

Perante encouraged the public to continue supporting PSA’s surveys and services, underscoring that accurate and timely data are vital for effective policy-making and national development. — /JG (FREEMAN)
