Capitol gives P80 million aid to 7th district municipalities

CEBU, Philippines — Local government units in the 7th District of the Cebu Province got close to P80 million in aid from the Capitol.

Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia personally handed over the checks to eight LGUs during the fifth stop of the Caravan of Services last Friday at the covered court of Dumanjug town.

Board Member Cesar Baricuatro was also present to assist the Governor in distributing the checks to the mayors, vice mayors, councilor representatives, and barangay chairpersons of the LGUs under the said congressional district.

Badian got the biggest aid from the Cebu Provincial government at P10.5 million.

Ronda, Alegria and Alcantara, on the other hand, all got P9.5 million each.

Caravan host, Dumanjug for their part, received P9.4 million along with Malabuyoc.

Moalboal was allocated P9 million while Ginatilan received P9.2 million.

The assistance will fund the various infrastructure projects from the barangays level up to the municipal levels, according to the Capitol’s official news network, Sugbo News.

Meanwhile, aside from the distribution of checks, residents from the 7th District of Cebu also got to avail of free services from different government agencies during the Caravan of Services, including medical, dental, optical and laboratory services.

Among the identified Capitol partners in the said Caravan includes UP Cebu, Pag-Ibig, GSIS, SSS, Philhealth, and LTO. –/ATO (FREEMAN)
