Capitol execs, workers get anniversary bonus

CEBU, Philippines — There's more reason for Capitol employees to celebrate the 454th Founding Anniversary of Cebu Province this month, as they are expected to receive their performance-based incentive.
The Cebu Provincial Board has passed an ordinance appropriating a supplemental budget of P62.950 million from the general fund during its regular session yesterday, August 7.
The budget will allocate incentives for the Capitol employees ---from elected and appointed to the regular and casual employees, including the job order workers.
The Capitol Information Office quoted the provincial budget officer, Danilo Rodas, as saying that the elected and appointed officials as well as the regular and casual employees will have P25,000 performance incentives while P15,000 is intended for the job order employees.
Board Member Glenn Soco, who chairs the PB committee on budget and appropriations and the one who sponsored the ordinance, said in his speech in yesterday's regular session that the incentive serves as appreciation for the work and services done by the Capitol employees especially during the trying times in the past years
“The Office of the Chief Executive, Hon. Gwendolyn Garcia, recognizes the efforts and exemplary service of the province’s employees during the most trying challenges of super typhoon Odette, Covid-19 pandemic, and the African Swine Fever,” Soco said.
The incentive is expected to be released this week or next week to over 4,000 Capitol employees. — (FREEMAN)
