CEBU, Philippines —  A man who was reportedly involved in illegal drugs was shot dead Sunday night at Sitio San Roque Rail Site II, Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City.

The victim was identified as Argie Jervacio Isidro, 32, who lives in the area.

Police Major Eraño Regidor said that the victim was involved in illegal drugs and had been reprimanded for his illegal activity.

“Katong biktima involved pud to sa illegal drugs durogista pud to siya mosuyop unya mamarokay pud at the same time kanang tawhana kawatan pud na base sa record sa barangay unya trouble maker pud labi na maka inom og mag tama sigi maoy ba,” said Regidor

Regidor said their investigation showed that the motive behind the shooting was personal grudge, explaining the victim was not able to pay for the illegal drugs which resulted to his killing.

“Nisud na sila og gamay nga alley. Mura siyag gitukoy nga mag abot diha. Instead nga gihatag [money], gipusil dayun. Mao nay style sa onsehan,” said Regidor

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his neck allegedly from a caliber .45 pistol.

“Naliog na siya pagtira kay gidul-itan unya nakadagan syag duha ka dupa, natumba sa unahan,” added Regidor.

The suspect immediately fled from the area. The responding emergency personnel, on the other hand, found the victim with no sign of pulse and breathing.

The Mabolo police recovered empty shell of a .45 pistol. They have already a suspect but they did not divulge any name as the hot pursuit operation is still ongoing. — GMR (FREEMAN)
