Tisa takes precautionary measures vs COVID-19
CEBU, Philippines — Strict border measures have been implemented by the officials of Barangay Tisa, Cebu City to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) following the reported positive cases in Barangay Labangon.
Councilman Jess Campos said that the barangay’s 74 sitios had already closed their doors to non-residents except to those exempted from the enhanced community quarantine. Campos said that the different sitios have also put up barricades to regulate access to their area. No mask and no ECQ pass will not be allowed entry.
This move came after another Covid-19 case was reported in Labangon, an adjacent barangay to Tisa. Campos, however, said that they have properly coordinated with the barangay officials of Labangon.
He said that non-residents sighted in Tisa will be reported to the City Health Department for check-up and proper action.
Some of the sitios started putting up barricades in their area since two weeks ago while the rest started closing down their area last Friday yet upon learning of Covid-19 positive cases in Labangon.
Barangay Captain Ringo Pacana reminded everyone of the border restrictions, market day and business operations. During weekends, all establishments will be closed except for pharmacies and gasoline stations.
Sitios are now clustered for its market day with specific time allowed for each cluster. As such, residents need to put their respective sitios at the back of their pass for proper identification.
Vendors, regardless of what sitio they belong are still allowed to purchase goods ahead of their sitio's market day provided that they have the “vendor’s pass”. This pass will also have to be returned for other vendor’s use.
Campus said that they are barring the entry of non-residents of the barangay to ensure effective implementation of the clustering of sitios and for their own safety. FPL (FREEMAN)
