‘Surprise’ bonus for Capitol staff
CEBU, Philippines — Capitol employees can expect bonuses for the holidays, according to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
In an interview, Garcia has confirmed that regular and casual employees of the Cebu Provincial Capitol will get their holiday bonuses this year.
However, unlike the usual practice during her previous stints as governor, Garcia said she will not be making an announcement to the Capitol employees on their bonus, it will just be directly downloaded to their accounts.
“Kaniadto ganahan kaayo ko ana mo-announce. It was such a big announcement always pero karon, I don’t have a taste for it. Karon, I will not also announce basta kay ma-downloaded na lang na sa ilahang ATMs,” Garcia said.
The governor has not disclosed the bonus amount, but she assures it is not too big and not too little. It is, she stressed, for the Capitol employees to see.
“Buhat lang ang palihokon,” she said.
This has also been observed during the 450th founding anniversary of the Province of Cebu where the anniversary bonus was just directly downloaded to employees’ accounts.
Although outsourced employees will not be eligible for the bonus since they are not directly hired by the Cebu Provincial Government, they will also be invited to the Capitol Christmas Party to be held on December 20. GAN (FREEMAN)
