Worldwide recall of Apple wall plug adapters

Apple issued on Thursday last week a worldwide recall for a two-prong Apple AC wall plug adapter - citing that the adapter "in 'very rare cases' may break and create risk of electrical shock if touched" as the reason for the recall.

The adapter model in question was designed for use in Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Argentina and Brazil. It was shipped with Mac units, certain iOS devices and included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit between 2003 and 2015.

Apple has "voluntarily decided to exchange affected wall plug adapters with a new, redesigned adapter, free of charge," the recall announcement states.

More information on the matter is available at apple.com/support/ac-wallplug-adapter.
