Sunshine Guimary gives her all in ‘Kaka’

Another newcomer is being given an acting break by Viva to be the lead actress in a sexy-comedy film.

The lucky lady is Sunshine Guimary and she’s topbilling “Kaka,” the first sexy comedy film of award-winning director GB Sampedro.

Sunshine is the newest Viva talent being given a baptism of fire as a sex goddess in “Kaka.”

Sunshine is known as a vlogger and was tagged as “Braless Goddess” because she models microminis and lingerie in her YouTube and Instagram accounts.

It was last March 2020 when Sunshine signed up with Viva and she was taken by surprise when she was offered a launching movie. She said in an interview that to be given a launching movie this soon makes her happy and grateful beyond words.

“Susuklian ko ng 10 times ito sa Viva,” she says. She admits to feeling nervous about the bed scenes, but she didn’t hesitate to give it her all.

Sunshine hails from Cebu and she has no acting experience whatsoever. At the Zoom presscon of “Kaka” held Sunday, she shared she doesn’t know anything about blocking, sequence guide, or tuhog — terms commonly used on the movie set.

She is just a simple girl from Cebu who loves to upload her photos and videos in her social media accounts. This caught public attention and paved the way to her entry into showbiz.

“I am happy and honored to work with Direk GB Sampedro, Jerald Napoles, Ion Perez and my co-stars in the movie since they helped me to act well and how to portray my role,” said the newcomer.

Sunshine said she enjoyed working with Jerald but would have wanted more scenes with Ion. She had more scenes with Jerald compared with Ion. She and Jerald are more open with each other because they had more scenes together and had more time to talk and get to know each other better.

“Nabitin ako sa scenes ko with Ion because we had limited time together,” said Sunshine.

Ion, who is a mainstay of “It’s Showtime,” is playing the role of Levi. He said he was challenged by the role because it is a far cry from his real self.  To prepare for his role as a rich kid, he read his script several times and imagined how it is like to act like a rich guy.

Jerald plays Jorge, the best friend of Kaka who is secretly in love with her. He and Sunshine have a number of intimate scenes and Sunshine said she hopes that the audience will see their chemistry.

Direk GB is happy that he will be able to add the sexy comedy genre to his filmography. He is thankful to Viva for trusting him and giving him the freehand to choose the stars and fulfill the vision he wants for the film.

Angel Locsin received a lot bashing after a senior citizen died while lining up for her community pantry during her birthday. The actress apologized, took responsibility for what happened, and helped the family of the person who died.

ABS-CBN issued a statement to show their support to Angel.

While some bashers were adamant in saying that Angel should be held liable for the death of the senior citizen, Dean Mel Sta. Maria, a law expert, said she can’t be held liable for what happened.

Sta. Maria posted the following on his Facebook account:

“IS ANGEL LOCSIN LIABLE? NO. Angel Locsin is not liable at all. There is no crime when there is no criminal mind. Neither was there negligence in putting up a table as community pantry. The table and the food were just there to be approached. There was even no accident due to any action of Angel Locsin. There is just absolutely nothing to make Angel Locsin liable. Being merely an organizer does not equate to liability.

It is sad that the people tend to forget the many times Angel extended help to those in need during the many calamities that happened in our country, and during the outbreak of Covid-19 last year, just because of an isolated unfortunate incident that no one wanted to happen.

We admire Angel’s courage to take responsibility for what has happened.”
