Mark Herras, K-Pop group Down To Mars in ‘DANCE FEST 2013’ culmination in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Today, August 23, is a defining moment for Cebu’s best dance crews as the Dance Fest 2013 – the biggest street and hip-hop dance competition in the Visayas region – culminates at the SM City Consolacion starting at 4pm.

The province’s top six dance troupes who will compete for the grand championship title are “Type One,” “New Friends,” and “Kings Gambitt” for the open category, and “UC Banilad Dance Troupe,” “Benedicto College Dance Troupe,” and “Synergy Dancers of Bulasa, Argao” for the school category.

The prizes up for grabs in the open category are SM gift certificates amounting to P30,000 for the champion, P10,000 for the 1st runner-up, and P5,000 for the 2nd runner-up.

Winners of the school category, meanwhile, will be receiving SM gift certificates worth P20,000 for the champion, P10,000 for the 1st runner-up, and P5,000 for the 2nd runner-up. Participating in the event are Kapuso homegrown talent Mark Herras and K-Pop group sensation Down To Mars.

Cebu is the final stop of this year’s Dance Fest brought by GMA Network in partnership with SM Supermalls. The first leg happened last August 9 in Iloilo where “Velocity X” and “ODE of Wit” emerged as champions, while the second leg took place last August 16 in Bacolod having “Critical Breakdown” and “Hili-ugyon Dance Company” as grand winners.
