Ford Philippines to rollout EVs by end-2025

CEBU, Philippines — Ford Philippines is gearing up to rollout its Electrified Vehicle (EV) lineup to the local market before the end of 2025, as part of the company’s broader strategy to align with global trends in sustainable mobility while expanding its footprint in high-growth regions like Cebu.
Pedro Simoes, President and Managing Director of Ford Philippines, made the announcement during the official opening of Ford Mandaue, the company’s newest and largest service facility in the Visayas region.
“We’re proud to confirm that the electrified Ford vehicle lineup will be available in the Philippines before the end of 2025,” said Simoes in an interview.
“In other markets, Ford EVs are already on the road. Filipino customers have been asking for it—and now is the right time to bring them in and optimize the opportunity,” Simoes added.
Ford’s "Electrified Vehicle" line includes hybrid and fully electric models under the Ford Model e business division.
While the company did not disclose specific models or pricing strategies, Simoes said Ford is carefully monitoring market conditions, including potential tariff adjustments, to ensure a competitive rollout.
The announcement coincided with the launch of the 12,000-square-meter Ford Mandaue Service Center, a strategic move by Ford and its partner, Fairlane Automotive Ventures Inc. (FAVI), to strengthen their presence in Northern part of Cebu.
With over 20 service bays and more than 30 dedicated body and paint bays, Ford Mandaue is now the largest Ford service facility in the Visayas. The site also features a 3-vehicle display area for sales and promotions, supporting both retail and corporate clientele.
“Ford Mandaue is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the ownership experience through excellent aftersales support,” Simoes said adding that Cebu continues to be a high-growth market for the company, especially with the consistent performance of models like the Ford Ranger.
FAVI General Manager Andre Rafael Borromeo said the new Mandaue branch marks the third Ford dealership under the Borromeo Motoring Group in Cebu, following locations in Cebu City and Talisay since 1999.
“This new facility allows us to better serve customers in the north and reinforces our long-term commitment to providing premium service,” Borromeo said.
Simoes emphasized that the expansion goes beyond sales and includes robust aftersales services.
The brand has deployed over 50 mobile service-based solutions nationwide, including service caravans and mobile service vehicles, to reach customers in remote areas.
“We are investing in both infrastructure and technology to make sure we’re ready for future demands—including those for electrified vehicles,” he added.
To celebrate the opening, Ford Mandaue is offering up to P50,000 in additional savings to the first 50 customers who reserve and purchase a Ford vehicle between June 5 to June 30, 2025. The promotion is open to new buyers with no active reservations in other Ford dealerships.
Globally, Ford’s strategy includes three key segments: Ford Blue for gas-powered and hybrid vehicles, Ford Model e for electric and software-integrated cars, and Ford Pro for commercial mobility solutions. The company aims to replicate this structure locally, starting with the EV rollout by year-end.
With a strong dealer partner network, rising demand in regions like Cebu, and the forthcoming entry into electrification, Simoes said Ford Philippines is positioning itself not just as a legacy brand—but as a forward-looking mobility provider in the country’s rapidly evolving automotive landscape. — (FREEMAN)
