Initial reports said Seachon was hit by two bullets in the chest and was grazed by another bullet in the left cheek.

On May 2, 2004, Seachon survived an ambush attempt in Kawayan, Masbate. Two weeks earlier, his younger sister, now Rep. Rizalina Lanete, was also a target of an ambush by gunmen in Matugnao Village, Pulaan, Masbate.

Seachon and his sister escaped unharmed, but four of their men were killed in the attacks.

Last Sunday evening, death finally caught up with Seachon.
