[Title] => Sandigan allows Erap to take witness stand on March 22
[Summary] => Ousted President Joseph Estrada will take the witness stand on March 22 in his plunder and perjury trial after the Sandiganbayan special division denied his petition to be allowed to testify on March 29.

Estrada has asked the Sandiganbayan that his court appearance be scheduled for March 29 instead of tomorrow.

Justice Diosdado Peralta, a special division member, ruled in open court that Estrada’s request to postpone his testimony until March 29 was "too long."

"They (defense lawyers) are the ones who have insisted on that (Estrada’s transfer to Tanay)," said Special Prosecutor Dennis Villa-Ignacio.

" It is not a problem of the prosecution. The nearest place is still VMMC," he said.
