ZAMBOANGA (AFP) - Eleven people were injured when a bomb exploded Tuesday in a public square in Zamboanga City, police and eyewitnesses said.

The bomb went off in the early evening in Plaza Pershing in the commercial district of this port city on Mindanao island, shattering windows around the square and sending people running for cover.

Authorities said it was too early to say who was behind the bombing and were keeping an open mind as the investigation continued.
