The President said yesterday the idea of hiring Giuliani was broached to her during a meeting in New York on Feb. 1 with her panel of international advisers headed by Maurice Greenberg, chairman of the American Insurance Group.

                    [Summary] => NEW YORK CITY — President Arroyo visited yesterday the ruins of the World Trade Center (WTC) Twin Towers and prayed for the thousands of people who perished there last Sept. 11.


"My special prayer goes to those who died here and may their death bring unity to the world," the President said.


She was accompanied to "Ground Zero" by husband Jose Miguel Arroyo, daughter Luli and son Diosdado, some senators and other members of her official party.


They were joined by New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani who expressed gratitude for the visit.
